President Donald Trump has publicly called on Microsoft to immediately dismiss Lisa Monaco, its newly appointed President of Global Affairs, accusing the former Biden administration official of being a “menace to U.S. National Security” due to her past role at the Justice Department.
In a fiery post on Truth Social, Trump argued that Monaco’s presence at a tech company with “major contracts with the United States Government” is unacceptable and urged swift action.

Monaco joined Microsoft in July to oversee global government engagement after serving as Deputy Attorney General under President Joe Biden. During her DOJ tenure, she played a central role in coordinating the federal response to the January 6th Capitol attack and oversaw investigations into Trump’s conduct.
According to Trump, Monaco has already been stripped of security clearances and banned from federal properties for what he described as her “many wrongful acts.”
The demand places Microsoft in a difficult political spotlight. The company depends on extensive government contracts, particularly in cloud services, and has worked to maintain strong ties with the administration. CEO Satya Nadella was recently seen at a White House dinner with the President.
Observers say Trump’s demand reflects his broader effort to pressure corporate America and punish former officials connected to investigations against him. The move comes just a day after the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey, signaling a wider crackdown on Trump’s past adversaries.
As of press time, Microsoft has declined to comment, and Monaco has not issued a public response. The company now faces the challenge of balancing presidential pressure with its corporate independence and critical government relationships.
