Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has clarified her recent viral statement about being open to becoming a second wife, saying it was made out of emotional frustration rather than genuine intent. The 45-year-old artist explained that her words reflected a moment of vulnerability following her past relationship experiences.
In a recent interview, Tiwa shared that her earlier comment came from exhaustion and disillusionment after heartbreaks. She said, “I was a first wife, where did that get me? I got married as the only wife, but here we are. I am tired of being heartbroken; maybe I am getting it wrong. Maybe I should try being a second wife.”
However, the singer was quick to clarify that she is not truly interested in being a second wife. “It is not my choice, though. I don’t want to. I wish I could tell my truth, but I will be dragged. I don’t want to be, I’m looking for love. Let’s just leave it at that,” Tiwa stated.
Tiwa Savage was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TBillz. The pair tied the knot in 2013 and share a son together. Their marriage ended in 2018 following public controversies and allegations of infidelity.
