Fujitsu has once again staked its claim in the ultraportable laptop market with the unveiling of the Fujitsu FMV UX-K3, a device that now shares the crown for the world’s lightest laptop. Weighing only 1.4 lbs (approximately 635g), the UX-K3 represents a fusion of precision engineering and cutting-edge technology, tailored for professionals who value extreme portability without compromising power.

The astonishing lightness of the FMV UX-K3 is the result of advanced materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Its chassis is constructed from a blend of carbon fiber and magnesium-lithium alloy, resulting in a structure that is both featherlight and durable. At just 0.7 inches thick, the device maintains an incredibly slim profile, matching the record set by its predecessor. This engineering marvel showcases Fujitsu’s unrelenting pursuit of minimalism and efficiency.

Despite its ultralight frame, the FMV UX-K3 makes few compromises under the hood. It features the Intel Core Ultra 7 255U processor, built with a hybrid architecture of two performance cores and ten efficiency cores, reaching boost speeds of up to 4.8GHz. This enables the UX-K3 to handle both professional and creative workloads seamlessly.

The laptop is complemented by 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, ensuring smooth multitasking and quick data access. Its 14-inch IPS display boasts a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 1920 x 1200 resolution, delivering sharp visuals with a brightness of 400 nits, ideal for work and entertainment alike.

Achieving such unprecedented lightness comes with certain trade-offs. The FMV UX-K3 is powered by a modest 31Wh battery, offering around seven hours of video playback on a single charge. However, Fujitsu compensates with an impressive range of ports, an unusual feature for devices in this weight class.

Connectivity options include:

  • USB-C (supports 65W charging)
  • Two USB-A ports
  • Full-sized HDMI port
  • Ethernet port
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • microSD card reader

Currently, the Fujitsu FMV UX-K3 is available in Japan at a retail price equivalent to $1,860 USD, with international buyers expected to rely on imports to acquire this engineering masterpiece.
