The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a direct and urgent call to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the persistent insecurity across Nigeria.
The cleric stated that all efforts by the government to curb the national security crisis would be wasted unless President Tinubu immediately moves to arrest the politicians who are financing terrorism.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Primate Ayodele warned that even with support from foreign partners like America, major success in counter-terrorism efforts will be unattainable if these sponsors of violence are not identified and dealt with. He claimed that governors, top senators, and former governors are among those categorized as financiers.
The Primate insisted that arresting these individuals is the only way to demonstrate the government’s seriousness about ending the threats.
Additionally, Primate Ayodele advised the President to approve comprehensive security reforms, including the creation of state, federal, and regional police forces. He also suggested that security agencies focus on clearing bushes nationwide, which he noted are currently aiding terrorists by providing shelter. The cleric stressed that accountability is paramount to restoring peace.
