Nigeria is experiencing greater safety and stability under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, according to Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communication to the President.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Bwala stated that Nigerians are “safer than they were before 2023,” attributing the improvement in national security to President Tinubu’s deliberate reforms and decisive approach to governance.

He recalled that before Tinubu’s administration, widespread insecurity plagued the nation. “Before 2023, there were prison breaks everywhere in Nigeria, even here in Abuja. In broad daylight, people were being kidn@pped before President Bola Tinubu came on board,” he said.

Bwala contrasted that era with the present situation, adding, “After he became president, we have not had prison breaks. People are going about their businesses all over the country.”

While acknowledging that minor skirmishes still occur, Bwala maintained that such incidents no longer represent a systemic threat to Nigeria’s security. He credited the improvement to Tinubu’s emphasis on intelligence coordination, personnel motivation, and targeted counter-terrorism strategies.

Addressing a recent report by U.S. lawmakers alleging a Christian genocide in Nigeria, Bwala dismissed it as politically motivated and factually inaccurate. He claimed that the report was influenced by a local organization with links to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“No faith group is being targeted in Nigeria,” he insisted. “The allegation of religious persecution is baseless and unfair to our security agencies who continue to risk their lives daily to protect every Nigerian, regardless of religion.”

Bwala urged citizens to acknowledge the visible progress achieved under President Tinubu’s administration and to support ongoing efforts to sustain peace and stability nationwide.

He concluded that while Nigeria’s security challenges are not entirely over, the administration’s commitment has yielded tangible results, reflected in the reduction of violent attacks, kidn@ppings, and insurgent operations across the country.
