ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has confirmed the appointments of five Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs), marking a significant leadership restructuring aimed at boosting operational efficiency and capacity within the Service.
The approvals were ratified during the Board’s 64th Regular Meeting on Tuesday, chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.
New Leadership Appointments
The newly confirmed DCGs are:
- Baba Imam (North-East)
- Isah Umar (North-West)
- Tijjani Abe (North-West)
- Timi Bomodi (South-South)
- Oluyomi Adebakin (South-West)
Their appointments follow the retirement of several senior officers and adhere to the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023, as well as the Federal Character Policy.
Eight officers were also confirmed as Assistant Comptrollers-General, demonstrating the Board’s commitment to strengthening policy execution, compliance, and strategic management.
Special Promotions for Excellence
In addition, the NCSB approved special promotions for ten officers recognized for “exceptional professionalism and outstanding service performance,” particularly in areas enhancing national revenue and security.
