The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reported a major success in its anti-narcotics campaign, confirming the arrest of a music artist and the uncovering of an illicit drug laboratory in Lagos State. The arrested individual is 20-year-old musician Godspower George Osahenrumwen, also known as Steady Boy.
Steady Boy was apprehended in the Lekki area while allegedly attempting to take delivery of a large consignment of the illicit drug Loud, which was smuggled from the United States. The consignment, weighing 77.20kg and concealed inside three cartons of bathtubs, was intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). The suspect was reportedly picking up the drugs on behalf of a syndicate whose manager, Zion Osazee Omigie (a.k.a. Zee Money), is currently at large.
In a separate, high-impact operation, the NDLEA also discovered a clandestine laboratory in the Ajao Estate area of Lagos where large quantities of Colorado were being produced. Following months of intelligence gathering, the agency raided the facility, recovering 16.2 kilograms of freshly cooked Colos, 1.7kg of ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol, and other precursor chemicals. The owner of this illicit laboratory was also arrested.
NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa commended the officers for their resilience and professionalism, vowing that the agency will continue to target and dismantle every identified drug syndicate operating in Nigeria. These operations underscore the agency’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse across the country.
