iPhone users can finally celebrate as WhatsApp begins testing multi-account support on iOS, a feature that has long been requested. The new capability, now available in beta version 25.34.10.72, allows users to manage two separate WhatsApp numbers within a single app, each with its own chats, settings and privacy controls.
For years, people with both personal and work numbers had limited options on iPhone. Switching accounts meant relying on the WhatsApp Business app or using unofficial workarounds, which often felt inconvenient and insecure. Meanwhile, Android users have enjoyed native multi-account support since 2023, making the delay on iOS even more noticeable.
That gap is finally closing. WhatsAppโs new multi-account feature marks a major improvement for iPhone users, offering a smoother, more organized way to manage communication.
The feature was first spotted in the latest iOS beta and is expected to roll out to the general public in upcoming updates.
How the Multi-Account Feature Works on iPhone
WhatsApp has designed the new system to be simple and secure, keeping both accounts completely separate while allowing easy switching.
A new Account List section now appears in WhatsApp Settings for beta testers.
You can add a second account using any valid phone number. Users can either sign in with a number already linked to WhatsApp or connect a companion account using a QR code.
Switching between accounts is instant, allowing users to move from personal chats to work conversations without logging out. You can switch directly from the Account List or by pressing and holding the Settings tab, which provides a faster shortcut.
With testing underway, WhatsApp is preparing to offer a more convenient messaging experience for millions of iPhone users who rely on multiple phone numbers every day.
