The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has officially initiated enforcement action against 1,095 property owners whose land titles were previously revoked due to non-payment of various financial obligations, primarily unpaid ground rent.

The properties affected are strategically located across high-profile districts of the Federal Capital City (FCC), including Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse. The FCTA enforcement action covers properties with outstanding Ground Rent, Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills, Penalty/Violation Fees, and Land Use Conversion Fees.

In a public notice released on Friday by the FCT Minister’s spokesman, the FCTA confirmed that the enforcement followed the expiration of a final 14-day grace period offered to all defaulters on November 25, 2025. The Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, had approved the commencement of the action after the owners ignored multiple public notices issued since May 2025.

The action is being carried out under the provisions of Section 28, Subsections 5(a) and (b) of the Land Use Act, which allows for the revocation of a Right of Occupancy for failure to comply with payment terms. This move signals the FCTA’s firm commitment to ensuring compliance and recovering outstanding revenue from Abuja property titles.
