FC Barcelona has disclosed a €17 million net loss for the 2024-25 season, a figure revealed during the club’s Ordinary General Assembly. While the headline number indicates a financial deficit, club president Joan Laporta explained that the accounts initially reflected a €2 million operating surplus. However, after factoring in several “additional fees” related to structural and operational expenses, that surplus turned into the final €17 million net loss.
Despite the setback, Barcelona achieved a record revenue of €994 million, supported by unprecedented sponsorship earnings totaling €259 million, which Laporta attributed to the club’s growing global market presence.
Laporta emphasized that Barcelona’s broader financial position is showing clear signs of recovery. The club succeeded in reducing its debt by €90 million compared to the figure previously set by La Liga.
According to the president, Barcelona has made a “titanic effort to contain spending” and remains proud that its ownership structure remains entirely in the hands of its members, without reliance on external financial entities.
