Cole Palmer Ruled out for 2-3 weeks due to injury

Chelsea’s injury worries have deepened, with manager Enzo Maresca confirming that Cole Palmer, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Wesley Fofana are all sidelined ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

Palmer to Rest Until October Break
Cole Palmer, who limped off in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United, is battling a groin issue that has troubled him since pre-season. Maresca explained that the medical team advised rest for the next two to three weeks, keeping him out until after the October international break.

The good news is that Palmer does not require surgery, but he will miss key games against Brighton, Liverpool, and Benfica.

Defensive Crisis Grows
Chelsea’s defense has also taken a hit. New signing Tosin Adarabioyo is out with a calf injury, while Wesley Fofana suffered a concussion in the Carabao Cup win over Lincoln City. With Levi Colwill still recovering from ACL surgery and Benoit Badiashile not yet match-fit, Chelsea are left thin in central defense.

Maresca’s Response
Despite the setbacks, Maresca remains positive, saying:
“With Cole we are a better team, but we are not going to play with 10 players. We’ll find a different solution.”

This could mean chances for younger players like Tyrique George as Chelsea prepare for a tough schedule without some of their key stars.
