Atiku Abubakar Joins African Democratic Congress, Declares Party ‘Unstoppable’ for 2027

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling a major ramp-up in opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections. The former VP formally registered as a member of the ADC on Thursday in Yola, Adamawa State.
Following the registration, Atiku took to social media to send a powerful message, declaring that “nothing will stop the ADC.” He stated that the party is poised to make significant political strides nationwide.
Atiku pointed to the party’s visible expansion, citing the recent unveiling of the Taraba State secretariat as evidence of its growing momentum and nationwide mobilization efforts. He stated, “There’s no stopping the ADC; it is heading your way.”
The move is seen by political analysts as a strategic effort by Atiku Abubakar to consolidate his base and strengthen the opposition structure against the ruling party led by President Tinubu. The declaration confirms the ADC’s intention to emerge as a major contender in the next electoral cycle, focusing on grassroots support and organizational growth across the country.
