Heavyweight boxer Andy Ruiz Jr., famous for delivering one of the sport’s biggest upsets against Anthony Joshua (AJ) in 2019, has offered vital advice to Jake Paul as the social media star prepares for their eight-round heavyweight contest in Miami on December 19. Paul enters the bout as a major underdog, with many analysts questioning if he possesses the necessary power to challenge the former two-time heavyweight champion.
However, Ruiz Jr., who stopped Joshua in the seventh round of their first fight, believes Paul has one key weapon that could cause significant damage. Speaking to TMZ, Ruiz Jr. specifically pointed to the straight right hand as Paul’s best chance for victory. He advised Paul to “Just get him with the right hand” and stated that if Paul lands it, he “can do good damage.”
Ruiz Jr. also expressed admiration for the Youtuber’s commitment, noting that “A lot of people underestimate Jake Paul, but in reality, he’s a good fighter. He’s dedicated, and that’s what I like about him.” Despite his limited professional experience, Paul remains confident, referencing Joshua’s previous struggles in the United States, where he suffered the shock defeat to Ruiz Jr.
